Professional Experience:  Project Management & Estimating

* Project Manager & Lead Estimator for HVAC/plumbing/piping/utility/mechanical jobs in the small-to-medium-to-large ranges for commercial, industrial, residential, industrial, and specialty fields.

* Typical kinds of past commercial jobs (including new construction, retrofits, and fit-ups) include but are not limited to: office buildings, hospitals, shopping centers, restaurants, research laboratories, treatment plants, schools, banks, hotels, clean rooms (to Class 10), automotive facilities, and standalone retail.

* Have done residential system design, Manual J calculations (working knowledge of WrightSoft), permitted, and managed new HVAC installation for some of the nation's largest homebuilders and for custom homebuilders as well, including single and multifamily.

* Had total project management P&L authority and responsibilities for said contracts from the pre-construction phase through substantial completion and punchout. .

* Authored CPM, PERT, and Gantt-based job task sequencing tracking schedules and schedule of values using software such as Primavera, SureTrak,  P3, MS Project and Milestones.

* Used a variety of means to create initial pre-construction estimates including such digitized computerized systems such as Quickpen, Estimation and Timberline.

* Assigned field supervisors and crews to various jobs, supervised and monitored performance of same.

* Acted as fiduciary agent for the company during regularly scheduled job progress and specific negotiation meetings.

* Engaged in heavy out-of-state travel in covering multiple jobs in multiple state and municipal jurisdictions, am familiar and have a high comfort level in dealing with the peculiarities of many local mechanical and building codes.

* Have routinely done engineering load calculations and system design for plumbing, piping, hydronic, HVAC and specialty systems.


Mechanical Contracting & Service Licenses

Am one of less than 500 licensees ( comprehensive license number: # 07492 ) ever to earn all four Unlimited Master's Licenses from the North Carolina State Board Of Examiners Of Plumbing, Heating, & Fire Sprinkler Contractors in the following "#1 Unlimited" categories":

* 1989 H-1/Hydronics/Boilermaking
* 1989 H-2/Air Conditioning/Comfort Cooling Above 15 Ton Unit System Capacity
* 1989 H-3/Forced Warm Air Heating
* 1977 P/Plumbing/Piping; was the second-youngest Master Plumber in the United States
 at time of license issuance.


Electrical Contracting & Service License

* North Carolina Board Of Examiners Of Electrical Contractors "Special Restricted Plumbing & Heating Classification 'SP-PH' Electrical Contractor's License", #21284/00-SP-PH, awarded by examination 3-97.


Industry Certifications

* EPA-certified Section 608  Proctor  certification to give CFC Recovery & Reclamation examinations as required by "40 CFR Part 82 Subpart 'F' ", as authorized by the Esco Institute, 10-99.

* Universal CFC Technician Refrigerant Transition And Recovery Certification, "as required by 40 CFR Part 82 Subpart 'F' ", certification number furnished on request, earned by examination 2-96, by ACCA and Ferris State University.


Computer Skills

* Working knowledge of most of the more popular shrinkwrap business and office software, including MS Word, MS Works, MS Office, Excel, Lotus, Lotus Notes, and WordPerfect.

* Working knowledge of many specialty and arcane trade-related software packages, such as Primavera, Prologue, Expedition, and TMS.

* Strong working knowledge of Windows XP,  Macintosh OS, HTML and the Internet.

* Was Systems Analyst/Architect and helped write code using TurboPascal, developed h/w-s/w digitizer interface, and wrote technical documentation for one of the early turnkey computerized construction estimating systems (DataSonix system)  in the early 1980's.

Communication Skills

* Goddard College, Plainfield, Vermont, 05667. Earned 45 semester credit-hours in one semester during April through October 1979, through a combination of course study (15 hours) and scoring above the 50th percentile on all five College Level Education Program (CLEP) examinations, 30 hours of credit being award for that accomplishment.
